This removes Barely and puts Docker back the way it was before setup:
barely uninstall
It then asks whether to delete your images, containers, volumes, licence, logs and settings too, and says how much disk that frees. The answer is no unless you say yes.
To answer without being asked, for a script, delete them:
barely uninstall -purge
Or keep them:
barely uninstall -keep
Uninstall removes:
- the background service that runs the VM
- barely's own copies of its programs in
~/.barely/bin - the
DOCKER_HOSTline setup added to your shell profile - the
barelyDocker context, switching Docker back to the context you used before - the
/var/run/docker.socklink, if it still points at Barely. This asks for your password.
The barely command itself stays. If you installed it with Homebrew, remove it with:
brew uninstall barely
Questions
Do I lose my images if I uninstall?
Not unless you say so. Uninstall asks whether to delete your images, containers, volumes, licence, logs and settings too, and the answer is no unless you say yes.
Does Docker Desktop work again afterwards?
Yes. Uninstall switches Docker back to the context you used before, and removes the /var/run/docker.sock link if it still points at Barely.
